SYNOPSIS: An adaptation of the Ariadne myth, heart of the dark deep travels deep within the subconscious mind of Marie, a girl who wakes to find herself buried miles and miles below New York City in an abandoned subway tunnel. As she awaits her rescue she threads together fragments of broken memories and old songs. A mythical monster lurks in the shadows as above ground, a dashing Doctor and his Nurse are on the hunt. Who is monster and who is hero?
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS: The play is set in an underground abandoned subway tunnel, a subway car and hospital room. Running time: approx 15 minutes.
PRODUCTION HISTORY: heart of the dark deep is the final play in The Mary Trilogy which will receive its premiere production in NYC this May 2008.
