SYNOPSIS: Jesus Loves Good Christians follows the rise of a fictional cable televangelist show based out of Dallas, TX. When the Holy Holy Bloody Statue of Jesus Christ is discovered to have magical healing powers, chaos ensues as people scramble to get healed of their ’sins and cellulite’ free of charge. Jesus Loves Good Christians offers a satirical look into the deceptive powers of commercialized religion and the frail malleability of the human spirit.

PRODUCTION HISTORY: Jesus Loves Good Christians received a developmental reading in April 2001 and was later selected for a full production in Downstage’s (Sarah Lawrence College’s student run theater company) Spring 2003 season. Jesus Loves Good Christians was named a semi-finalist for the Mildred & Albert Panowski Playwriting Award 2003, received a staged reading produced by the American Repertory Theatre Company of London in February 2004, and was read in Live Girls! Theatre’s Playwright’s Festival (September 2004).
